We produce luxury objects that derive from the beauty and sustainability of nature, as well as preserve heritage skills and quality. The very name Nature Squared marries the combination of tradition and technical innovation. Mother Nature provides us with a wide portfolio of materials, ranging from the mundane to the unusual, such as eggshell, seeds and bark, tropical sea shell, precious stones or exotic leathers and feathers and we ensure the sustainable future of all materials before using them.
Centuries old techniques are what has perfected our skills, enhancing them with today’s ingenuity and innovation.


Luxury is often equated with rarity and ultimate quality. However, we believe that marrying beautiful hand work with the unique characteristic of any natural product provides the ultimate in rarity.


We work in 3 market segments: Interiors, Luxury Brands and Solutions. In each market our activities are characterised by our hallmarks of luxury, quality and design.
Our interiors division focuses on:
– Marine (primarily superyachts and cruise ships),
– Aviation (private aircrafts)
– Land (VVIP residential, hospitality and retail)
We create diverse items such as wall paneling, furniture and components, bathtub and flooring for projects within these markets.
Our Luxury Brands division is partnered with leading manufacturers from the automotive and accessories sector, with whom we integrate our natural materials into their product ranges.

We bring our design expertise to translate our material expertise into product design.
Our Solutions division supports the technical needs of Interiors and Luxury Brands, as well as developing its own products for sale in areas like Flammability.
We meet the highest quality expectations, both in terms of aesthetic execution, meeting technical and regulatory standards and project management.


Nature Squared is a Solutions based business, with a Research and Development division developing technological solutions to marry with nature for the provision of surfaces and luxury products.


Our company was founded in 2000 by two partners, Paul Hoeve and Lay Koon Tan, with the mission to create meaningful, sustainable employment in developing countries.
In an age of rampant globalisation and at the height of the dotcom bubble, it seemed valuable to reaffirm the value of artisanal skills, antithetical to faceless mass production, and the inextricable links between nature and human endeavour. We also felt it necessary to combat the mistaken view that developing countries are primarily a source of cheap labour and low quality.
We are Swiss-based; with our main production facilities in the Philippines and our main R&D facilities in Germany and Switzerland. The majority of our 200+ employees are skilled artisans. Our natural materials are primarily sourced in Asia, Africa and Europe.

It is a mindset that requires the conscious balancing of the needs of people and the environment.
We deal with a world that seeks absolutes: “good versus bad,” “right versus wrong” etc. Our absolutes reflect our vision and philosophy, such that: -
- we only use natural materials that are abundant and not endangered, protected or threatened,
- we treat each member of our company with respect and dignity and
- we make our economic decisions congruent with our long-term mission.
Our fundamental vision is based on “trade not aid", our aim is to facilitate sustainable growth in the developing countries where we do business.
